Brands which promise quality natural products always have my full support. One such promising, young brand is Prakriti Herbals which makes various skin care, hair care and face and body cleansers using natural ingredients. A few of my favourites are the Aloe Vera Rose Gel, Walnut Scrub (with wheatgerm oil),
Herbal Hair Oil, Hibiscus Shampoo and the one I’m reviewing today, Honey, Fresh Lime and Aloe Vera Refreshing Shower Gel.
A little about Prakriti Herbals:
“Mankind has always turned back to Mother Earth for cures and that is Prakriti –Nature.
At Prakriti Herbals, We believe in the Vedanta philosophy, which emphasizes that nature has always provided an abundance of plants, roots, flowers and herbs rich in vitamins, enzymes, proteins and minerals that have been used in body and skin-care from time immemorial. “

According to Prakriti Herbals, the Honey, Fresh Lime and Aloe Vera Refreshing Shower Gel is “A Refreshing shower gel to cleanse and refresh your skin which being soap free, quenches the dryness of your skin naturally. It is enhanced with with the goodness of Honey that moisturizes and soothes the skin, lemon oil which deep cleanses the skin and aloe vera juice which protects and moisturizes leaving your skin refreshed, soft and hydrated.”
Price: 120 INR for 60 ml
Ingredients: Extracts of Honey, Lemon Oil, Aloe Vera juice, Vegetable saponins, Foodgrade colours and preservatives, Purified water
Packaging: All of Prakriti Herbals’ products come in a transparent plastic tube with a flip open caps. I’m personally not a fan of flip open caps as I’ve mentioned in a lot of my previous posts. I think it is can get messy. And it isn’t something I find safe for travelling purposes.

The shower gel is a yellowish translucent gel and is suitable for all skin types. it also lathers when used . So for all of you who love your lather this one won’t disappoint you!
The shower gel is refreshing in every possible way! I love this primarily because of the combined sweet smell of honey and lime! It is absolutely a wonderful I would love to have lingering on me after my bath. and it does linger on for a maximum of an hour and there are faint traces of the fragrance when I sniff my hand after a while but not as strong as it was in the first half an hour after bathing. The scent is very mild and people around you definitely won’t be able to get a whiff of the lovely fragrance.
Another thing I loved about the shower gel is that it moisturizes the skin incredibly! I have very dry skin and to say that it moisturizes my skin to a large extent is proof enough that the product scores high in the moisture department! The shower gel leaves my skin feeling soft and good enough to even skip a moisturizer!
Although I loved the formulation, scent and everything about the body wash, there were a few issues I had with respect to the packaging and the pricing. I’ve already mentioned the flip open cap as one.
The second issue here is the quantity given is too less and the body wash lasted for about 6-7 washes only! I guess 60 ml is okay if it is supposed to be a travel sized product but I personally feel the shower gel should be made available in larger quantities. I don’t think I would purchase a shower gel every week or so! I would rather get a bigger size bottle/tube of the product than getting 4 of the smaller ones every month!
Another issue is with respect to the pricing. The shower gel, hair oil, shampoo, rose gel etc come in the same packaging which means they are sold in tubes of 60 ml and they are priced the same, 120 INR. Now unless the quantity is more, I wouldn’t pay 120 bucks for a hair oil or shower gel and that too for a quantity of 60 ml! So that was something that bothered me quite a bit. Needless to say, the quality is worth paying for but I’m not sure if first time users will be willing to pay as much.
Final Word: One of my HG shower gels, the Prakriti Herbals Honey, Fresh Lime and Aloe Vera Shower Gel has my vote in terms of quality but there are some technical glitches (packaging and pricing) which needs to be worked upon! A sure shot winner otherwise and definitely worth a try!!
