My Bridal Memoir: The Journey Begins!

Four months to go for my D-Day!

My wedding memoir

I cannot contain my excitement and I am so happy that I can share my journey as a bride-to-be with all of you! Presenting to you, My Bridal Memoir, where I’ll talk about anything and everything that I do in the name of planning and prepping for my wedding day.

Being a South Indian TamBrahm (Tamil Brahmin), my wedding would involve quite a bit of ceremonies which involves changing of sarees ‘n’ number of times and the most challenging part is waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning. Also I’m getting married to a Telugu Brahmin which means most of our rituals are common ones but we need to see how we can incorporate the rest as well.

I don’t want to bore you with all that now but I would be sharing my shopping adventures, research on what brides can buy where in South India (maybe I would even be eligible for a PhD degree on smart bridal shopping for all you know ;)) and what a typical South Indian Brahmin wedding would look like. I will definitely be breaking stereotypes so don’t be shocked if you see a nine yards saree in a color other than maroon, red or green.

Before I end this post, I would like to thank Janani for suggesting such a wonderful name for this series.

I hope my open journal helps brides-to-be. Do let me know your suggestions and share best places to shop and ideas for wedding as well. 🙂
