Kryolan Translucent Powder in TL14: Review

Have you ever wondered if your face squeals and squirms when you apply a foundation because it is so sticky?Have you ever had this strangest feeling that the foundation might *drip drip* like paint on your face when you sweat? Now here is a product to put an end to these weird weird thoughts! (Oh well I had them too! even with a tinted moisturizer :P) Finally I’m reviewing my most used product and that is…  *applause!!!*  the Kryolan Translucent Powder!!

Where do I start? Okay here is what I think of this product for a start: LIFE SAVER!! Seriously, it sets my makeup and it remains intact throughout the day and I can be confident that if someone kissed me on my cheeks they wouldn’t be stuck with foundation on their lips 😛 😛

The powder is translucent meaning it does not impart any color to your face (unless you take a lot of it on your brush!!) and just sets your makeup and keeps your makeup intact.

Also if you use a cream blush you can use the excess powder on the brush (after using it on the rest of your face) to set it in. Amazing isn’t it??

What Kryolan has to say about the translucent powder:

Price: 400 INR
Qty: 20g

Ingredients:

Packaging: A round grey container with a grey cap. I personally find the packaging a little cheap in quality.

The powder comes out through the tiny holes (as seen in the picture) so you don’t need to open the entire inner lid to take out the powder. I find this a very good idea since there is absolutely no wastage of product (unlike my Lakme Rose Powder where most of the powder is always on my dressing table rather than my face! :P)

The shade I have is TL14 which brightens up my face due to its yellow undertones. But the yellowness doesn’t show up on the face and the powder just blends in with your makeup.

How to use: I generally take a little powder on my brush, tap off the excess and apply it all over my face except my cheeks. I set my concealer, tinted moisturizer with this. And then after I apply my cream blush I take the powder brush and go over the cream blush lightly with the excess powder left on it. And that sets my makeup for the day.

They say all good things come to an end but this one never will!! You need very little to use everyday and the quantity is more than enough to last you a lifetime (This one has a shelf life of four years)!!

Swatch:

There are a few things I have to point out here:

  • This might not be suitable for travelling. Spillage and breakage (due to poor packaging) might be an issue. A pressed powder would be a preferable option for travelling (You can read more about the Maybelline Dream Matte Pressed Powder which is perfect for travel here!)
  • Secondly people with oily skin might need to use it often throughout the day since it is not that mattifying 🙁

Finally I know there are a lot of other alternatives for this one but if you ever get your hands on this do not miss it! I can assure you that it will become an integral part of your everyday makeup! 🙂
