The perfect winter facial routine!

Any skin care routine – whether in summer time or winter time, should necessarily comprise a simple routine: cleansing, hydrating, exfoliating and using sun protection. This is especially important in winter, when your skin is probably already taking a beating with the cold weather. Here’s a simple routine that will help you work your skin into something magical this winter!

Cleanse right: Your skin needs to be at its cleanest. Winter can dry out your skin, and flaking skin isn’t the best thing to have to preserve your glow. Keep your face cleansed well – use a product that suits your skin type, but at the same time does not dry out your skin even further. Use a gentle cleanser that does not erode your skin or become harsher on your skin.
Hydrate: Dry skin certainly needs moisturiser! With winter, the extent of moisture in your skin reduces quite significantly. It needs immense work to help restore your skin’s moisture balance, so be sure to up the creams and their strength.
Exfoliate: With winter, your skin begins to dry up and become flaky. To beat that, we tend to pile up on heavy creams that will help take away from the dryness – but this becomes futile if we are trying to hydrate the flakes. An exfoliation process will help you rid your skin of the dry flakes, so that the creams can actually work on your skin directly.
Sun protection: Of course you need sun protection in winter! Sunburns are as easily possible in winter as they are in summer. Be sure to use a sunscreen lotion or cream with a good SPF mix, while also protecting the skin on your lips with a good balm that has sunscreen in it!
Share your winter routine in the comments below, we would love to hear from you! 🙂
