Space-Wise: DIY Hanging Rack

By Rekha (Entry #4)

We get so many packing boxes when we shop online, instead of wasting them. I tried to make the best use of these boxes and this is what I came up with 🙂

In order to make this hanging rack, we need the following products:
  • Satin Ribbon
  • Scale/Ruler
  • Crafts Knife
  • Adhesive – I used Fevicol
  • Scissors
  • Marker Pen

  • Empty boxes – you can take either same size or different size based on your creativity and space availability

  • Foam sheet or plain white A4 sheets
Step-01:

Using the marker pen, leave equal spaces on both the sides like 1 inch and mark the points as shown below.

Do the same for all the boxes, and make sure they are aligned in the straight line as shown below,

Step-02:

Now take the scissors or sharp Knife and pierce holes on all the 4 sides of the box as shown below, here I am using just two boxes so 4 holes on the upper box  and just 2 holes on the lower box as shown below.

Step-03:

Now insert the satin ribbon through one of the hole in the lower box and tie few firm knots. Make sure the knots are tight.

Take the other side of the ribbon and insert it to the bottom side of the top box as shown in the picture (4)

Similarly do the same for the other side too and now for the upper box do the same procedure and insert the other end of the satin to the same box and tie firm knots as shown below.

Step-04:

Use either a foam sheet or a white paper/colored sheets and cover the box using fevicol as shown below, this way we can hide the knots showing up.

Step-05:

Use embellishments and decorate the box 🙂 I’ve used quilled flowers for decoration 🙂

That’s it guys 🙂 Here I have used this rack to store my nail polishes, liquid liners etc since the box I chose is small I had used the polishes and liners, If you choose bigger boxes you can store more products 🙂

So hang it on the wall and you are good to go 🙂

So girls hope you enjoyed this DIY tutorial and do let me know if you have any doubts and if you make one please share the picture with us. We would love to see your creativity 🙂

Take care and Thanks for reading 🙂Â
