MAC Matte Lipstick: Mehr: Review/Swatch/FOTD

Sometimes when I’m cracked up I do something stupid… like buying a lipstick or a blush with a blue undertone! But sometimes it does pay off.. like in the case of MAC Mehr.

Generally I stay away cool toned lipsticks,blushers out of a fear that they would look odd against my skintone. And thats why Mehr didn’t catch my attention initially at the MAC store. I went on to try Double Shot and Tabla which looked… errrrr…. horrible on me!! And then finally this pink thing caught my attention and came home with me! 😉
MAC Mehr is a cool toned pink and it has a slight blue undertone. It is a universally flattering color and adapts to every skintone. It may look darker on fair skintones and a little lighter on darker skintones but nevertheless it is a beautiful everyday wear pink.

Thankfully MAC has been kind enough to make this lipstick a part of the permanent collection. The lipstick has a matte finish. I find it very creamy to apply but it gives a matte finish on the lips and it does settle into the fines if lips are chapped. So a lipbalm is a must before applying Mehr for those with dry chapped lips.

One swipe of the lipstick gives an opaque finish. If you have pigmented lips, you might need two at the most! The first time I tried it at the store I left it on since it looked very pretty but somehow it disappeared in less than 2 hours. I’ve worn this 4-5 times after that day and I can safely say it has lasted on me for about 5-6 hours and yes I did eat, drink water and did everything necessary for survival in those 6 hours 😛 😛

Final Word: Overall I love this lipstick. And till now I haven’t come across any lipstick from MAC that I don’t like . The formulation, color, texture of this lipstick is spot on and if you want a pink lipstick for everyday wear, look no further!
