Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter: 070 Cherry Tart: Review/Swatch/LOTD

There was a time when I loved making tarts. The base was really easy to make and I would just fill it up with whipped cream and fruits or make a lemon cream cheese tart. Tarts bring back memories of the days when people close to me would be guinea pigs and eat whatever I made. 😛 So when I bought the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart, I bought it because it was a wearable red but when I think about it now the name is so close to my heart since I love baking. And what’s with these lip butters and their names? Cherry Tart? Red Velvet? Candy Apple?Tutti Frutti? Seriously, I’ll pile on kilos just reading these names!! *craving a slice of red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting*

Price: 600 INR for 2.55g

Packaging: I love the packaging! The lip butter has a translucent cover which reflects the color of the lip butter. Even the label at the bottom is the same color as the lip butter. So a double thumbs up for that!! And the top most part of the cover is transparent where you can see the color of the lip butter. So if you stack your lipsticks straight then it is so convenient to spot the shade!

Color: The color is a sheer blue tone red with silver glitter (not shimmer!) The label at the bottom of the tube indicates in a very obvious way that this particular lip butter has glitter. The glitter is visible on the lips if looked at up close.

Do not get intimidated by the color of the lip butter in the tube. Yep, it looks like a scary red lipstick but do not judge the book by its cover. 😛

In terms of scent, it is a mild vanilla cum plastic-ky scent which isn’t really bothersome.

This particular lip butter is very sheer (compared to Tutti Frutti and Red Velvet) and definitely needs to be swiped several times for a decent visibility of color. So if you are one of those people who hesitate to wear red, Cherry Tart is a good one to start with. I wear this on a day to day basis, even if I have to go out for a professional meeting.

What I really like about these lip butters is that they glide on the lips easily. In terms of moisturization, they work well. My lips do not feel dry when I use them. The glitter in Cherry Tart is not gritty and does not in any way affect the way the lip butter glides on.

The lip butter lasted on me for 3 hours and then I had to re-apply. Although the wear time was less, the good part was that there was no glitter left behind after the color had vanished.

You can see how sheer it is from the swatches above.

Final Word: Cherry Tart is good in terms of moisturization. If you are looking for a red to wear on a day to day basis or if you are trying red for the first time then this one is for you. The glitter is not really an issue here. The sheerness and wear time is what might make you think twice.
