Faces Glam On Powder Blush: Crimson: Review/Swatch

By Ghayathri

Hi everyone! Today I would be reviewing a powder blush from Faces – Crimson from the Glam On range. I should have reviewed it before the festival season since it’s an awesome blush for the festival season but still, better late than never right? Read on to know what I think about it 🙂

Before moving on to the review let’s see what the company says about the product: “This highly-pigmented powder formula allows for an even and precise application. Long-lasting colour, stays all day long. Complements all skin tones.” This is the shortest product description I’ve come across in a while 😛

Price : Rs.449 for 3.5g of product
Shelf life : 3 years
Ingredients : They have mentioned only the key ingredients on the product and they are : Talc, Mica, Kaolin, Zinc Stearate, Methyl Paraben, Bismuth Oxyxhloride, Phenyl Trimethicone, Color.

I love it’s packaging, to say the least! It looks classy with the tiny mirror inside and it could be slipped into handbags or even wallets, it’s that tiny and absolutely adorable! 🙂 The color appears as a deep pink on the pan but on cheeks it’s a gorgeous pink shade with shimmer. Application is a bit tricky due to the presence of shimmer, refer to Deepika’s post here on tips to apply shimmer blushes.
The texture is very smooth, the blush is a finely milled powder which is a pleasure to apply and blend. The shimmers are not chunky and impart a healthy glow to the cheeks if blended properly. Just make sure that you don’t blend too much, otherwise you would be left with only shimmer on your cheeks 😛 There is some fallout but nothing unmanageable. A closer look at the pan, this is exactly how the blush looks:

The blush is highly pigmented and since only a small quantity of blush would be required for each use, this pan would last ages. Due to it’s intense pigmentation, it can easily make you look like a clown so make sure you apply it with a light hand. It stays well, around 5-6 hours. I took a large quantity for the hand swatch so it looks quite dark but in reality it’s not so dark and is suitable for daily wear too. As you can see in the blended pic, the shimmers are very fine and easy to work with.
Summing up the pros and con,

What I love about Faces Glam On blush – Crimson :

  • Good staying power
  • Fine shimmers which add a glow without looking OTT
  • Good pigmentation
  • Gorgeous shade!
  • Classy packaging
  • Smooth texture
  • Easy to blend

What I don’t like about Faces Glam On blush – Crimson :

  • No applicator (Applicators provided with blushes are generally useless but for this price and quantity, I expect one 😛
  • Expensive for the quantity offered (the quality is great but I’m sure Inglot has a similar shade, forgot the shade number, for a lesser price and greater quantity).
Final Word : I love this blush and would recommend it to everyone, a must-have blush for the festive season 🙂
