Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow: Review/Swatch/FOTD

One of the famous drugstore brands abroad, Covergirl is famous for its blushers . Cheekers as it is known, come in a wide range of colors which I would say suit the Indian skintones well and the one which I’m reviewing today, Plumberry Glow is a good example of this.

Perfect for fall and winter, this plum blush lends a warm glow to the cheeks! It is a subtle berry kind of shade which does look a little frosty when swatched and has gold shimmer. Initially when I looked at it I thought it wasn’t for me but when applied on the cheeks it gives such a beautiful glow that it seemed so perfect!

The blush is inexpensive and the quantity is enough to last a really long time. The blush is priced at approx $4.79 for a quantity of 3g. You can read what Covergirl has to say about their blushers here.

Ingredients:

The color can be built up according to the intensity you want but you CAN’T overdo it.  When I swatched it, it seemed a little rough and unblendable but I was wrong. The texture on the pan is completely different from what it is when applied on the cheeks. It blends like a dream! The scent of the blush isn’t overpowering either.

The brush which came in with the blush is much better than the brushes other brands give along with their blush. I’ve used it for touch-ups and it works decently.

Apart from the color, I loved how easily it blends. Although the texture looks rough in the pan and when swatched, it blends like a dream on the cheeks.I guess the rough texture prevents any wastage of the blush while using a brush to take the product off the pan. I have a few blushers which when I swipe with a blush lead to a lot of wastage since it is very very finely milled.

The blush lasted on my cheeks for about 5-6 hours and then slowly faded away. It didn’t leave a hint of color behind and I had to reapply the blush after that.

Swatch:

I wore it on Diwali this year. You can see the detailed post here.

The only con I would say is its unavailability here in India but if you know anyone abroad pester, bug and demand them to get it for you because this is one color which is tailormade for Indian skintones!

Final Word: For those of you who are scared of wearing bright purples or very intense plums but still want to try a blush in that color family, then this one is for you.
