Product review: Maybelline Colossal Kajal

When I went to a Health and Glow shop in my city, I straightaway headed to the Maybelline counter to purchase a few lipsticks which I’d been lusting after. And my eyes wouldn’t stop looking only at the lipsticks (obviously!) and when I looked around the counter I found this Kajal by Maybelline. Doesn’t the word Maybelline Colossal sound familiar?  Their ‘oh so’ famous mascara is also under the same name. So knowing this product won’t disappoint me because the mascara didn’t, I decided to go ahead with buying this. (Not a surprise though!)

I know there have been a lot of reviews about this product BUT I have to review this product simply because I love it! In general I’m always fascinated by kajals and love using them. They brighten up my entire look and the darker the Kajal the more I’m attached to it. This Kajal is no different. The SA at the store told me it is a one stroke Kajal and very well pigmented. Here is what Maybelline promises about the product:

  • COLOSSAL intensity – Deepest black pigments and a unique tip to deliver the blackest black shine ever. .Colour glides on smoothly and so intense!
  • COLOSSAL wear – 6x smudge resistant wear; no more touch ups
  • COLOSSAL care – 5 caring ingredients (that’s what it says but doesn’t mention the ingredients!) and Vitamin E enriched formula

Let me review the product on the lines of Maybelline’s promises and see whether they have been delivered or not

  •          COLOSSAL intensity – True to an extent but I don’t agree about the deepest black pigments thing. Lotus and Himalaya is way more pigmented than this one.
  •          COLOSSAL wear – True! True! So true! It does not smudge! I was super-duper happy with this and I even use it on the upper inner part of my eye and it instantly brightens my eye without smudging! If I wear it before I leave the house in the morning it comes off only when I use my makeup remover to remove it at night.
  •          COLOSSAL care – I really cannot comment on this because I do not feel any positive or negative effect after using it. I’m assuming there is no lead content in this and safe to use.

Here is a swatch:

Tip: For COLOSSAL striking eyes use this Kajal with the colossal mascara and your eyes will look striking and bright throughout the day!
