Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush: Soft Cardinal: Review/Swatch/FOTD

I wonder what women in the olden days did to get that healthy glow-y soft pink color on their cheeks. Hmmm.. Did they rub beetroot on their cheeks for that color or did they run up and down the stairs to gain that healthy flush? My grandmom once mentioned that she had never given a hoot to the flush and all she wanted was her skin to look genuinely healthy instead of faking it. Well, I for once disagree with that completely and I would always love my healthy skin to be accompanied by that soft pink flush on my cheeks. And no matter what I do and how healthy my skin is that color refuses to show up on its own so I take a little help from cream blushers, especially the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Cardinal.

Price: 565 INR for 5gms

Ingredients: not mentioned

Packaging: The cream blush comes in a mini black casing with a transparent screw on lid. The packaging is flimsy but isn’t an issue if you are carrying it in your handbag. If you are travelling and decide to put it in your suitcase, then ensure that you seal the sides with a sellotape so that the lid doesn’t come off.

The color is a semi bright pink with a slight tone of red to it. The blush contains silver shimmer which is hardly visible to the eye and that’s what gives the subtle glow when this blush is used.

In terms of blend-ability, I really want to say excellent but all I can say is that it is very good; not excellent because while blending it resists and tugs slightly because it clings onto the skin once I start blending. I find that using my fingers to blend this blush is the best way to get the right amount of color on the cheeks.

The color can be used minimally to give a nice healthy flush of color on the cheeks or you can go all out and look like a clown. The choice is yours. Just want to point out that the pigmentation is really good so use sparingly and if you want an intense color then first use a little and blend it out and ensure you have a light wash of color where you want on the cheeks and build on that. Do not take too much quantity at once because then blending becomes difficult. I apply a dot on the higher end of my cheek and blend it downwards and then build on that and instead of dragging my finger in order to blend I use the tapping technique because that is easier to distribute the color evenly throughout on the cheek.

I’ve worn this quite a few times just to fake that healthy look.  It lasts on me for about 6 hours and for about 3 more hours when I use a translucent powder/powder blush on top of it.

If you have pale skin Soft Cardinal is one blush that can add a warmth to your face due to the hint of red in it.

When it comes to the price, of course it is expensive for the quantity. Max Factor blushers, be it powder or cream are of really good quality and there isn’t an iota of doubt about that. I would’ve preferred more quantity for the price it comes for.  But it is so hard to find cream blushers in India especially of such good quality so I guess that’s forgivable.

Just so you know, it  is less than half the size of my palm

Final word: If you are on a lookout for an everyday cream blush that would give a natural flush of color to your cheeks, then Soft Cardinal might be IS the one for you! And yes, it is available at all Max Factor counters in India so availability isn’t an issue too!!
