MAC Modern Mandarin Blush: Review, Swatch & FOTD

Anything orange/coral fascinates me and if it is a blush? It is definitely mine! 😀 My mom always complains about how I have more or less the same shades of orange. 😛 Anyway, here is the latest addition to my coral/orange blushes.
Modern Mandarin was the only one that caught my attention in the MAC Tres Cheek LE collection.

Modern Mandarin is described as a red-orange by MAC. It is of a satin finish but I personally feel it isn’t as finely milled as the Fleet Fast one and hence blending the blush is a little difficult.
Price: 1350 INR
Qty: 6g
Packaging: The usual black round case with a transparent lid

The shade is not the usual vibrant fun orange. It is a softened version of a reddish orange color. It has shimmer but thankfully it doesn’t show up on the cheeks.

In order to review the blush as quick as possible I’ve been wearing this at home and to a few places for the past one week and I must say the staying power is extremely good. It lasted on me for 6 hours. It might have lasted longer if only I had let it stay 😉 The color doesn’t fade either.

Swatch:
Now the swatch doesn’t reflect the “red” aspect of the color description given by MAC. But when blended the warmth that is imparted is due to the red.

You can see how warm and muted the orange looks on my cheek!
Yes! there is a gap in between the two teeth! 😀
This blush can be used for a day as well as a night look as it can be built up easily. The pigmentation is so good that you don’t need too many layers to make the actual full on color show up. It doesn’t look chalky or powdery. Modern Mandarin will definitely suit all skin tones although I personally feel this will look better on girls who have a dusky skin tone .

Final word: A lovely soft orange blush which translates into a warm red-orange on the cheeks, good for those who are afraid to try orange or red; texture could have been better.
