Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel: Review

Suddenly confessions seem to be the talk of the town! Everywhere I look around, there are confessions!! So I thought let me also take this opportunity to confess two things about myself. One is that I am obsessed with my hair and I will go to any length to make sure it is healthy and looks perfect!! I constantly keep fiddling with it to see if it is alright. You can read all about my hair woes here. I’ll save the second confession for another day! 😉 And NO, it has nothing to do with my obsession with blushers or the color orange !! 😛

So when I searched online for some styling products for curly hair, I stumbled upon the Herbal Essences Curling Mousse and the Curl Scrunching Gel. Needless to say, I bugged my aunt to get it for me on her visit here.
Price: $3.99 for 170g

Although I love the Herbal essence Curling Mousse with all my heart, this one also holds a very special place for the simple reason that it defines my curls so well!

The gel comes in a grey tube (I have the old packaging which has a purple tube with a purple flip open cap). Honestly, I cannot think of a better packaging for the gel although I hate the flip open caps. It is extremely travel friendly although I wish these had come in travel size quantities too!

The gel is transparent and extremely sticky (this one is No. 2 which means it is not too strong) so a little would go a long way even for really curly thick hair. it’s best to not overdo it since I’ve been there and done that and my hair has looked like straw.I take a pea size amount of the product and scrunch my curls using the gel for more definition. That way the curls also stay longer instead of clumping up into a frizzy mess full of knots.

In terms of product build up, this one is easy to wash off using an everyday shampoo (like the Tressemme one).

Final Word: This is a saviour in disguise for those of you with curly hair. The product not only defines and makes the curls stay in place, tackles frizz but also scores in the “long staying” department! I would definitely recommend this to those with similar hair problems like mine (which is curly and frizzy by the way)!!
