Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion (for Dry to Very Dry Skin): Review

‘Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.’ is a quote that often comes to my mind when I think of love!! But here is a skincare product which I associate this quote with, not because I love this to bits (I do! but that ain’t the reason) but because of a certain incident that led me to buying this.
I was the pharmacy buying a few things when I realized or somehow knew that there was Cetaphil in that store. I had lost hope earlier after searching several pharmaceutical stores but I just had to open my mouth and ask!! The pharmacist looked at me as if I was the first person to ever ask for a Cetaphil product and took out the facewash and moisturizer from some corner where I wouldn’t have even bothered searching!!  I was ecstatic that I bought both!
Now do  you understand the quote in this context? (Gosh!! I sound like a teacher!!) 😛

Price, Quantity and Packaging:
Priced at 100 INR for 30 gms the moisturizer comes in a white tube with a blue screw cap. I prefer a screw cap to a flip open cap since it is less messy while taking the product from the tube. And it is easier to clean even if it gets messy. 😛

Ingredients:
My super duper dry skin needs truck loads of moisturizer to keep it hydrated. When I was about to give up, I bought this one as a last resort along with St Ives Body Lotion (yet to be reviewed).
It is supposed to be fragrance free but it does have a scent to it which is very very very mild (so mild that I can hardly make out what it is!!)
Once applied, it does feel a little greasy but it is a savior in the hydration department. I can use this once a day and be assured that my skin would be supple and hydrated atleast for 8-9 hours. One the cover it protects the skin for 24 hours which is.. well.. let’s say a slightly ambitious claim.
The only issue i have with respect to this moisturizer is with respect to the quantity. On the cover it says “Apply liberally as often as needed” Huh! Like really? Then I might need a tube a day to keep my skin hydrated. 😛 Seriously, The quantity is just too less for the price we pay!!
And after mentionting this, let me also tell you that unless I really really desperately have to use this I don’t use it on my hands. This is only a staple in my morning face routine.

Final Word: The Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion (for Dry to Very Dry Skin) is a luxurious lotion indeed, in terms of the price paid for the quantity given. But nevertheless in terms of moisturization it scores a sixer!
