Nail paints find a permanent place in our vanity. These tiny pots of liquid complete our look by adding a subtle edge to it. So from now on, I’ll be doing a series of nail paint reviews for you from the Simply Pretty range of Avon. There are 5 types of nail paints in this range and I’ll be reviewing one from each in this series
The first one in this series will be………. Ta daaaaaaaaaaaaa….. COOL CORAL from the Pretty Pinks category.
Price : Rs.85 for 5ml but almost always available on offer
Ingredients : Not mentioned
Availability : Only through Avon representatives.
The shade is a light coral with a metallic finish. It is an everyday wear sort of shade. The texture was thick and it goes opaque in a single coat. The pictures below were taken after one coat, yup, just after one coat.
Drying time was fine, around one minute, I am okay with that. The staying power was fantastic! I applied it without a base coat and a top coat and it stayed intact for five days (on a thick single coat) with very minimal tip wear and it started chipping on the sixth day. On a honest note, I didn’t do any work except typing on my laptop and watching TV while testing out this particular shade so if you are someone who does some household work, it would probably last a day less on you.
No complaints regarding the packaging, it was functional and for this price it was good enough. The brush was okay, not great. It shed a couple of bristles during application but only once. The finish was streaky, that’s the only major con regarding this nail polish, seriously.
Pros :
- One word for the staying power – amazing!
- Shade – a lovely everyday colour.
- Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity offered.
- Doesn’t take a long time to dry.
Cons :
- Application is streaky.
- Brush sheds one or two hairs during application.
I have this color! It was one of my first nail paints 🙂 True.. it is slightly streaky in application but the opacity makes up for it! 😀 good one Ghayu 🙂
