Avon Simply Pretty ColorLast Lipstick in Mauve Delight: Review, Swatches, LOTD

Hello everyone! How are you all? It has been nearly a month since I wrote a review (blame my camera and laptop, they stopped working one after the other and I had to keep running to both the service centers. Sad stories aside, today I’m back with a lipstick review (yes, another lipstick, don’t glare at me, I’ll be take a break from writing reviews soon so this might be one of my last reviews for the next few months, you will know why in a few days ;)) so without further ado, lets move on to the review of Avon Simply Pretty ColorLast Lipstick in Mauve Delight 🙂

What is it?

A peachy pink (more peachy, less pink) lipstick with a matte finish

Price and Quantity: 229 INR for 2g

What the company claims:

  • Get velvety color that lasts long, stays fresh and keeps lips soft and moisturized
  • Gentle, long-lasting lipstick with anti-oxidants and SPF 12 UVA/UVB
  • Lasts upto 4 hours
  • Transfer resistant

Ingredients: Not mentioned

It is similar to the regular simply pretty lipsticks but with a sleeker look: bright pink case with the shade name at the bottom. I shouldn’t be complaining about the packaging for the price but still, I’m starting to get bored of this bright pink packaging but that’s a personal pet peeve 😛

This one is a misnomer, I couldn’t find a mauve tone in it, it is more of a light peachy shade with a hint of pink. It would suit fair-medium skin tones best, I would advise dusky beauties to skip this.

It is very creamy to apply and sets to an almost matte finish. I really liked the application part and the finish but the problem is, it settles into fine lines. It does not look completely matte, it is more like a powdery matte finish. My lips feel dry after a couple of hours but a swipe of lip balm solves the issue.

How is it best applied?
It is best applied after prepping your lips properly with a lip balm. Otherwise it clings to dry patches on lips and doesn’t look good. This shade would be ideal as an everyday-wear for fair skinned beauties.

Pigmentation & Staying Power:
It is well pigmented and gave an opaque coverage to my lips in two swipes. It stays for 2-3 hours on me, not bad considering that the company claims that it “lasts upto 4 hours” only 😛

  • Affordable
  • Good pigmentation
  • Staying power is not great but it doesn’t claim to last long, so that honesty gets a brownie point from me 😛
  • A nice everyday-wear kind of shade
  • Nice matte finish
  • Has SPF

  • Settles in lip lines
  • No ingredients list mentioned
  • Wont suit dusky beauties

Rating: 3/5

Final Word: Not a must-have lipstick but for the price you pay, it performs well.
