Celeb Makeup: Zee Cine Awards 2013

Celebrities are always scrutinized for the way they dress, their makeup and how they carry themselves. Can’t blame the public since most of us look up to them as inspirations in our everyday lives.
The Zee Cine Awards 2013 saw a huge turnout of stars and as I went through the pictures I found that most of the ladies stuck to what I would call the “safe makeup”.
Even though Priyanka played it safe in terms of makeup I couldn’t help but like her look because it spelt CLASS! Smokey eyes and n*de lips always work!

Deepika Padukone’s oxblood lipstick along with well highlighted features is definitely a hit with me! I love the fact that she kept the eyemakeup (soft brown eye makeup with a smudged black kohl) and cheek color subtle and let her lips be the star of the show.

Karismaa sported a dark plum lipstick and I loved her thick kohl line! Although I really can’t decipher her eyemakeup it looks good enough from whatever I see!

Ah! Sonali looks stunning as ever! I loved her “golden glow”! Her makeup is perfect for any Indian wedding or a mehendi function!

Shazahn Padamsee’s makeup was natural and gorgeous! She emphasized more on highlighting her features and stuck to safe colors.

Sophie Choudry’s makeup – I loved loved loved! Her dewy makeup gave her that healthy glow and she looked stunning in every aspect!

If there was one person I was really disappointed with it was Sridevi! She looked extremely tired, used pink even on her eyelids and looked old! Or rather her makeup made her look old!

I’ve never liked Ileana and I think she looks really old atleast when it comes to her face! I loved her lip color here though!

A few others whose makeup made me go “OMG! she should look into the mirror before stepping out!”:

Shreya Goshal’s cakey makeup, Genelia’s no makeup look (which was a total failure and made her look tired although I loved her hair!), Vidhya Balan’s “serial bahu” look, Huma Quereshi’s shiny disco ball look, Mughda Godse’s “sunburnt” look. I’ve always liked Shaina NC but over here I felt the color of her nose was different from the rest of her face!! :-/

Finally the trends spotted at the award function were:

  • Dark lipsticks
  • Dewy Makeup
  • Use of highlighters and minimal makeup look
