The festive season is upon us and it is time to bring out the bling and the bright colored clothes.
It is also time for some festive makeup – to wear your most vibrant long-wearing lipsticks, luminous highlighters, blushers and the best eyemakeup!
Here’s a compilation of the best blushers I would recommend for the festive season. All of these are suitable for all skin tones and since most of these are powder blushers, it would suit all skin types as well. You could click on the title and it would lead to the swatch or review post.
These are my top five blushers that not only give your cheeks a flush of color but also gives it a beautiful glow.
A shimmery highly pigmented pink blush which is easily blendable.
The texture of this rosy pink blush is smooth and is a dream to blend on the cheeks BUT there is a whole lot of silver glitter that shows up if you over-blend the color on your cheeks. The shimmer (not the chunks of glitter) works if the blush is used sparingly, providing a glow which means a highlighter can be safely skipped.
A dirty mauve-y-pink undertone and imparts a soft glow when used. It has shimmer which isn’t really visible on the cheeks. This kind of color is the best choice for pairing with bold lip colors, be it warm or cool or if you decide to do a dramatic eye look, then the subtle color and gorgeous glow this provides enhances the entire look!
A pink based blush with a hint of coral. You can see the coral tint only under certain lights. Texture wise, what Maybelline claims is exactly what they have delivered. Its soft, smooth and creamy to touch and easy to blend. This color will suit girls with medium to fair skin tones.
This plum blush lends a warm glow to the cheeks. It is a subtle berry shade which looks a little frosty when swatched and has gold shimmer. When applied on the cheeks it gives such a beautiful glow!
Kryolan has some excellent quality blushers at reasonable rates. Lake gives a very natural mauvy pinkish flush to the cheeks and it last throughout the day.
If you aren’t comfortable with a blush like Lake, take a look at swatches of some of the other Kryolan blushers. You might find one you like and I would definitely recommend these since the staying power is really good.
Shade No. 27 in my opinion is a burnt pink with a hint of peach. It does not have any shimmer and will be a good choice if you are looking for a blush that would be daytime appropriate.
If you love coral, peach and orange blushers, then check out this compilation. You are sure to find one that you would love!
All the shades in this trio are perfect for the festive season. I love wearing Demerara and layering Muscavado for a festive occasion (one of my go-to looks for Navrathri) or layering Turbinado over Demerara for a day look.
