Avon Glazewear Silky Shine Lipsticks – Coral Bliss & Sunset – Review & Swatches

By Rekha (Entry #3)

I am an ardent lipstick lover and whenever I see a new release from Avon, with no second thoughts, I just place my order :X

These Glazewear Silky Shine lipsticks were launched sometime in June and Avon claims that these are their “GLOSSIEST” lipstick ever!! According to them, these lipsticks come with “real silk” to enhance softness and shine for flawlessly sexy lips!

Ok so we all know how we get the “real silk” 🙂 my doubt was can it be used in cosmetics? If so how?

After a little research on the internet this is what I learned 🙂

Silk amino acids also called silk proteins are obtained by the hydrolysis of silk – a natural protein fiber. The soft lustrous thread obtained from the silk cocoon woven by the silkworm is so converted and used in cosmetic preparations.

Because of the low molecular weight of the molecules, they penetrate the surface layers of the skin and are a naturally hydroscopic material, which has excellent moisture binding qualities to condition the skin.

Silk amino acids (silk proteins) are used to help prevent dehydration of the skin. Have excellent moisture retention qualities and UV ray blocking properties.

Interesting isn’t it 🙂
These lipsticks comes in 8 different shades, mostly pinks, peaches & reds 😀
From this lot I got the Coral Bliss and the Sunset shades 🙂

They are retailed at Rs.375 or $ 6.5 approx for a 1.8g quantity
The packaging is long sleek and pink. It has a classy impression of the brand name on the bullet, Avon printed in silver!
Light weight, easy to carry around! Sturdy cap, double click lock for extra safety! What more could one ask for J I am totally impressed with the packaging!!

Also the lipstick smells all fruity, I love scented lipsticks 😀
The shade Coral Bliss is actually less coral and more pink; it’s a nice rosy coral pink shade with a slight hint of coral tint 🙂
Sunset is a beautiful peachy pink shade, sadly it’s not a versatile shade Imo it would suit fairer skin tones better!

The lasting power of these lipsticks vary from 2 to 3 hours without food/water and sleep 😛 😀
Though they are glossy, they aren’t sticky.  These are quite moisturizing and does not accentuate my pigmented lips 😀

Next I am eyeing on the Glam Red and Juicy Tangerine shades 😀 but I would wait until I get an offer on the MRP 😛
Overall to me these lipsticks are a luxurious treat for my lips <3 I absolutely love and adore them :X
So have you guys tried these lipsticks before? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below 🙂
Take care and Thanks for reading 🙂

peach silk is a lightest shade in this range.. proper peach shade.. IMO unless the person is very fair.. it may not suit them well n may wash them out 🙁
